Who would have thought when I signed off this blog in 2019 that it would be so long before I was back. 2 years to be exact!
Life is one of ups and downs and often things don’t go as planned, which you could say makes life interesting and worth living, although there are times when changes are not welcome and we have to swim with the tide to prevent being swept away.

Whilst life was throwing a lot of challenges at us we were also caught up in the World Wide Pandemic of Corona, which propelled us into looking at the way we lived and maybe also evaluating priorities. I have to admit one of the hardest parts was not being able to travel, but at the same time it taught me the art of slowing down and resulted in a certain contentness which with hindsight was something that I often struggled with.
Johan had been able to travel to North Macedonia after the first lockdown in March 2020, but it meant that he was away for longer periods of time and at home for longer stretches. This also meant that the work on the house and gardens could continue at a very lesiurely pace and I must admit its all looking pretty good here. It is still a work in progress but as we say there is no hurry. At the moment there is a hive of activity outside as the local landscaper is planting trees and making borders. Hopefully in a year or two we should have some more shade in the garden.

I am here for a few weeks and will write some blogs about life in North Macedonia.
Hope you enjoy following us for a while again!
