Across the border into Greece

Sometimes, needs must and we cross the border into Greece.

2 hours drive from Kocani and we are in Thessaloniki. Ideally we combine our trip with business and pleasure.

The question is, is a visit to a well known European furniture store business or pleasure?

Thessaloniki is a great city, its busy and bustling, modern shops combined with good restaurants. It is a city that you can just feel is seeped in history, you can almost hear and smell how it was years and years ago, hearing the traders at the harbour selling their wares, waiting for the ships to come in, sailors jostling to get work on board and family eagerly awaiting the arrival of loved ones.

Not far from Thessaloniki city is the beach of Peraia, this is a small town popular with locals heading to the beach for holidays.

In the evening we sit on the beach enjoying a cold glass of wine and eating the locally caught fish whilst watching the sun setting over the sea.

” for whatever we lose (like a you or a me), its always our self we find in the sea.

E.E. Cummings.

The visits to the well known furniture shop are also quite fruitful!

We can even decipher a few words on the route map apart from “service” and “bistro” (which is always handy!)
