Due to my husbands work I often visit North Macedonia and whilst being here I have grown to like the place and its people. Its a fun place to explore, not the run of the mill country to visit on holiday, there are no summer holiday photo’s on Facebook saying this is a MUST to go and visit add to your bucket list now! I hope it stays that way as we can continue to enjoy our visits here without competing with hordes of tourists trying to take that photo where they will get the most “hits” on social media.

By the way, Ohrid (pronounced Och-rid) has been voted the cheapest holiday destination for 2019. Rest assured this blog is not about Ohrid, if you’re looking for an all-in swimming-pool holiday this is NOT the place to be.

This is a bit of fun, encouraged by my daughter who is as intrigued as I am by this country and thought it was good to share a bit of our life here.

I will be putting up blogs whilst I am in Macedonia, as I am fortunate to be a teacher this will be mainly during holiday periods, but we will see.

I will include general musings but also information about what to do and see when visiting the eastern part of North Macedonia.
